2017 is going down as the year phones lost its borders. Yet another bezel-less phone has been launched in China, this time, it’s the mid-range Oppo A79 for CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs 24,000).
The phone has 86 percent screen-to-body ratio and features a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display in 18:9 aspect ratio. As per GSMArena, the design looks very similar to the Oppo R11s launched earlier.
The phone is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with a Mali-G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage. There is expandable storage via microSD card as well. The phone runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 3.2 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1.
On the back is a 16-megapixel f/1.8 camera while on the front, there is a 16-megapixel f/2.0 shooter on the front. It has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor aligned to the center.
The Oppo A79 houses a 3,000mAh with support for Oppo’s VOOC fast charging through a micro USB port. The phone has a dual-SIM slot and supports 4G LTE.
The device is currently available only in China and will go on sale on 1st December in Blue, Black and Gold colour variants.
