You can add Prisma filters on Facebook Live now
But it works only on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7.
Viral photo sharing app, Prisma, is bringing its AI-powered video filters to Facebook’s Live videos. The feature, though, will be limited to iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S users, at least for now. It allows you to choose from eight different filters from Prisma, while on Facebook Live. You can also change filters in the middle of your broadcast.
According to Prisma, the video processing for this feature is done locally on your phone, which is why only the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S support it. Apparently, other phones aren’t powerful enough to handle this kind of processing. Prisma CEO, Alexey Moiseenkov, even demonstrated the feature with a live of his own.
Interestingly, Facebook itself had demoed an experimental app that, like Prisma, uses artificial intelligence to apply filters to videos. Prisma, on October 28, had announced that it is bringing its filters to FB Live.
Prisma’s AI-powered photo filters have become quite popular recently. The company uses artificial intelligence to tweak your photos and give them an artistic touch. The company reportedly plans to add a free aspect ratio feature in future, along with improvements to its Android apps and more features related to social media. Prisma also plans to increase the speed of processing on its app, and add support for GIF images.
