Here's what happens when you drop the Xiaomi Mi Mix

Have you wondered how a bezel less phone fares through a fall? According to a series of posts on MyDrivers, when a user accidently dropped the device, the fall resulted in not only a broken screen but a crumpled ceramic frame as well. Two elongated cracks along the screen are also visible in the images.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix is being hailed as the Chinese smartphone maker's best device. With a 6.4-inch screen and a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, the phone has also garnered appreciation for its looks. However, the edge to edge design along with ceramic chassis means that the phone is surprisingly fragile.

Users can always encase the smartphone in a protective cover, which should help the device survive such accidents. But then the case would hide the device and users wouldn't be able to appreciate its beauty.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix sports a 6.4-inch FHD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC. There is also a 16MP primary camera, and a 4400mAh battery. The standard variant of the device has 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Mi Mix Pro has 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pro also comes with 18K gold plating on the camera and fingerprint sensor

The Mi Mix is the first Xiaomi phone to sport on-screen keys, and the first with 256GB storage. It’s also the first Xiaomi phone to sport a bezel-less display, and resembles the Sharp Aquos Crystal. Priced at 3499 Yuan or approximately INR 34532 the phone is not slated to enter the Indian market.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mi Mix will not sell in India. Xiaomi is reportedly manufacturing only 10,000 units a month. Prospective users will do well to add some protection and perhaps official accident insurance as well.
