Alongside the announcement of new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, Google also introduced its first ever Daydream VR headset. Google Daydream View is company's first foray into mobile VR space offering tight integration with core Android platform. Google Daydream View is officially hitting stores on November 10 and is available for preorder now.

Google Daydream View is first in the series of VR headset powered by Google'd Daydream platform. Google Daydream View currently supports only Pixel and Pixel XL devices but Google plans to add more compatible devices to the list in the coming months. Google Daydream View is priced at $79 and will be available from Google Store and other retailers.

Google Daydream View is initially available only in Slate colour option but the VR headset will later become available in Crimson and Snow colour variants. At its October hardware event, Google spoke about use of soft cloath and foam to build Daydream View for comfortable experience. Unlike Samsung's Gear VR, Google Daydream View features a remote that neatly slides inside the headset when not in use.

Daydream View is the second VR headset from Google, that does more than Cardboard. Google Daydream View will support VR news apps from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal at the time of launch. The mobile virtual reality headset also brings support for games like Gunjack 2 and Danger Goat. Google has also tied up with some of the popular platform developers like EA to bring Need for Speed: No Limits to the Daydream VR platform.

In our initial impressions, we observed that Google's Daydream View is a marked improvement over the Cardboard. Google Daydream View also offers a far richer experience in comparison to Gear VR.

Google Daydream connects to Pixel smartphones via NFC while the bundled remote control uses USB-C port for charging. Google Daydream View offers best experience while watching YouTuve videos in VR, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Google Daydream View will be available in the US, Canada, UK, Germany and Australia from November 10.
