Apple's older 12-inch Macbooks are going to cost you more now

Apple has hiked the prices of its 12-inch MacBooks in India by up to Rs. 10,000. According to the company’s Indian website, the base variant of the 12-inch MacBook with 256GB of storage is now priced at Rs. 1,12,900, which is a Rs. 6,000 increase. The variant with a faster processor and 512GB of storage is now priced at Rs. 1,39,900, which an increase of Rs. 10,000.

This comes just a few days after Apple unveiled its new MacBook Pros. While the ones with the new OLED Touch Bar start at Rs. 1,55,900, the base variant of the MacBook Pro (without the Touch Bar) is priced at Rs. 1,29,900. This variant offers a 13-inch display and an Intel Core i5 processor. Considering the price hike of the older 12-inch MacBook, the new MacBook Pro makes an interesting proposition. 

Earlier this year, Apple had updated the MacBooks with sixth-generation dual-core Intel Core M processor clocked at up to 1.3GHz. Apple also claimed that the new MacBook offers up to 10 hours of web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback. In addition, a new Rose Gold variant was made available to consumers.
