Galaxy Note 7 fiasco expected to trigger layoffs at Samsung
Reports suggest that South Korean company might be planning to hand out pink slips to employees in its internal review in December
A new report from Reuters points out that Samsung might be readying to layoff employees due to the Galaxy Note 7 recall fiasco. Unnamed sources have told the wire agency that pink slips are expected to be handed out to employees during the internal company review in December. 65000 recall. Add to that, the company is also facing one class action lawsuit in the US, with more such suits expected to surface in the near future.
“There’s a lot of talk there could be major turnover in the executive ranks on the hardware side. There’s also a lot of concern among the working-level employees about a major restructuring,” states the new report. Moreover, there’s also talk of heightened frustration at the South Korean company as the reasons for the Galaxy Note 7 battery explosions have not been determined yet. However, an official spokesperson dismissed the Reuters report saying that the company is “not considering any management changes or restructuring.”
Looks like the Galaxy Note 7 explosions, recall and eventual death, is definitely going down as the biggest smartphone failure in the history of mobile devices.
