BlackBerry launches DTEK60 with 5.5-inch QHD display, Android Marshmallow

After accidentally posting the specifications of DTEK60 on its own website, BlackBerry has now officially unveiled the smartphone. The Dtek60 is the company’s most powerful smartphone till date and is the second smartphone in the DTEK-series after the DTEK50. The phone is priced at $499 (approx. Rs. 33,300) and is available for sale in North America and Europe. The phone will be available in other regions in the coming weeks.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 sports a 5.5-inch QHD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB RAM. At the back is a 21MP camera with PDAF, while at the front is an 8MP camera. It is equipped with a 3000mAh battery and offers 32GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 2TB. The device has a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner located at the back. There is also a customisable Convenience Key that lets users access frequently used applications quickly.
The DTEK60 runs Android Marshmallow and comes with a number of exclusive apps like the BlackBerry Hub and the DTEK app. The BlackBerry Hub is the company’s unified inbox, which consolidates all of the user’s messages in a single place. The DTEK app lets users monitor their OS and apps. There is also a Password Keeper that offers the user a safe place to store passwords and other confidential information. Further, the phone supports BlackBerry’s Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) suite of applications like WatchDox, Good Work, and more.
